Trio Hegel

CLASSICAL STRING TRIO

«I am the conflict, for the conflict is just this antagonism, which is not any indifference of the two as different, but is their being bound together. I am not one of those taking part in the strife, but I am both the combatants, and am the strife itself. I am the fire and the water which touch each other, and am the contact and union of what flies apart

 G.W. F. Hegel»

REVISIONED MUSIC

BY TRIO HEGEL

What is a trio if not this: a continuous process of harmonizing primary elements. Far from the fraternal and supportive logic of the quartet, the string trio really is a clash of water, earth and fire in chamber music.

The dialectical vision, therefore, is a passage, a qualitative leap, a change, a continuous and infinite progress which the trio applies to the study and the pleasure of ever-new musical research.

The Trio Hegel has performed on important occasions and in evocative venues such as at the "Ridotto del Teatro" for the "Fondazione TeatroGrande", in Gorizia for the "Chamber Music Trieste Association", in Piacenza for the "Piacenza Classica Festival", in Milan for both the "Società dei Concerti" and the "Società del Quartetto", in Mantua for the "Mantova Chamber Music Festival", in Padua for the "Accademia Galileiana di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti", for the "Associazione MoMus" and for the "International Music Meeting 2016", in Ravenna at the "Sala Corelli" of the Teatro Alighieri for the "Associazione Mariani" and at the Museo Nazionale for "Ravenna Festival", in Venice at "Palazzo Albrizzi" for the "Associazione Dino Ciani", in Arezzo for "Terre d'Arezzo Music Festival", in Montepulciano for the "Fondazione Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte" for the 46th Festival.

About international performances, the Trio Hegel has performed several times in Switzerland, and in early 2020 it made its first tour in Finland, gaining praise where it will return in 2023. The collaboration with the composer Mauro Montalbetti led the Trio Hegel to the premiere of the piece, published by Rai-Trade, "Sei Bagatelle per Trio d'archi" and of the composition "E voi empi sospiri - Madrigale per Trio d'archi", dedicated to them, also performing live for Bergamo TV and gaining great appreciation from the public and critics. The Trio Hegel's artistic growth is linked to the names of the Cremona Quartet (Stauffer Academy in Cremona) and Antonello Farulli (International Academy of Imola "Incontri col Maestro").

Also fundamental were the encounters with Luca Simoncini (Nuovo Quartetto Italiano), Jürgen Kussmaul (L'Archibudelli), Andrea Repetto (Quartetto di Torino),Christophe Giovaninetti (Quartetto Ysaÿe), Danilo Rossi (Trio d'archi della Scala) and the conductors UmbertoBenedetti Michelangeli and Riccardo Muti.

The Trio Hegel was selected for the project 'Le Dimore del Quartetto' and boasts collaborations with pianist Piero Barbareschi, flutist Tommaso Benciolini and elements of the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano. At the request of composer Carlo Boccadoro, the Trio Hegel has had the honour of performing his string trio on several occasions.

The Trio Hegel recorded a world premiere CD for the Tactus label containing music by the Tuscan composers Luigi Cherubini and Giuseppe Cambini, a monographic disc by the composer Mauro Montalbetti for the 'A simple Lunch' label, and the complete string trio music of Jean Sibelius and Max Reger for the Japanese label 'Da Vinci Classics'. Also for the latter label they recorded a three-CD box set containing the piano concertos K413, K415, K414, K449 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the version for piano and string quartet by the same composer and the Quartets for piano and strings K478 and K493 with Piero Barbareschi at the piano. The Trio Hegel's revisions of the 'Suite in A Major for String Trio' by Jean Sibelius and the 'Trios for Strings' by Luigi Cherubini were published by Da Vinci Publishing.

The Trio Hegel plays three interesting instruments: violin Raffaele Fiorini (year 1876, model G. Da Salò), viola Filippo Fasser (year 2007, model G. P. Maggini), anonymous French cello (dated early 19th century).
